After completing some training sessions with Benfica, he was integrated into Benfica’s feeder Povoa de Ranjoso, one of the clubs, where he stayed for three years until he was dismissed due to his weak physique.

Afterward, his performances throughout the season were critically acclaimed, and despite intense competition from experienced players such as Carlos Soler and Renato, Sanchez, and Fabian Ruiz, the combination of himself and Marco Verratti in central midfield and his rapid adaptation to a new team received mixed accolades.
