Usher has amassed a long list of accolades over the course of his career, including a Diamond certification for Confessions, two multi-platinum albums in My Way and 8701, two platinum albums in Here I Stand and Raymond v. Raymond, among others, and cumulative album sales of over 23 million in the US and 43 million globally.

This includes 9 Soul Train Music Awards, 8 American Music Awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards, and 8 Grammy Awards. Usher won 11 awards in 2004 to become the most honored artist by Billboard.

He received the Golden Note Award at the 26th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in 2013. In terms of record sales, Yahoo Music ranked him second only to Michael Jackson as the top R&B act of the decade, while Fuse ranked him as the 10th most award-winning artist of all time.

He has sold more than 100 million records overall. Usher received a star at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard after being inducted into the 29th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.

In terms of digital single sales globally, his tracks “Love in This Club” and “OMG” rank among the top 10. More than any other male solo artist at the time, Usher earned nine number-one and eighteen top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100, spending a total of 47 weeks at the top.

Usher held the record for the most total weeks spent at the top of the Hot 100 chart in a calendar year at the time with 28 weeks at number one in 2004 alone.

He became the first artist of the 2010s with “OMG” to amass number-one singles in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010. He followed Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Madonna as the fifth artist in history to accomplish that milestone.

He also became the third male soloist in history to have at least one number-one song from five straight studio albums.

Usher tied Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye for the most number-one singles of the 2000s on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with 13, the most of the decade. In 2010, he also broke the record for most number-one singles on a single chart.

Usher has 16 number-one singles on the Airplay chart, with “You Make Me Wanna” (12 weeks) and “Climax” (11 weeks) having the longest runs on the latter. He also has 14 number-one hits on the Rhythmic list, 16 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and 14 number-one singles on the Rhythmic chart.

Several Billboard Year-End charts have included Usher at the top, including seven in 1998, seventeen in 2004, and one in 2010. He became the first performer since The Beatles in 1964 to have two singles occupy the top two spots on the Year-End Hot 100 chart with “Yeah!” and “Burn” in the lead positions.

“Yeah!” came in second place to Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” on the 2000s Billboard Decade-End list. He was listed at number 6 on Billboard’s list of the “Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years” and was the second-most successful musician of the 2000s.

He was ranked number 14 on the “Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists” list, number 6 on the “Top 60 Male Artists of All-Time” list, and number 31 on the “35 Greatest R&B Artists of All-Time” list by the same publication.

Confessions was ranked 16 on their list of the “Greatest of All Time 200 Albums” and 10 on the list of the “Greatest 50 Albums Since ’93” by Vibe magazine.

They rank “Yeah!” at number 14 on their list of the “Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Songs” and at number 15 on their list of the “Greatest Songs of the 2000s”.
