Scott Raymond Adams, also known as Scott Adams, was born in Windham, New York, on June 8, 1957. He is Virginia and Paul Adams’ son. Scott has Scottish, English, German, Irish, and Dutch ancestry. He was a major Peanuts comics fan from a young age. Charles M. Schulz, a well-known cartoonist, served as his inspiration as he began drawing his own comics at the young age of six. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Master of Business Administration in economics and management in 1986. His former supervisor served as the inspiration for the name of the character he invented while still in college, dubbed Dilbert.

He began working for the telephone company Pacific Bell in 1986. He was inspired by others around him at work to create the cartoon character Dilbert. His Dilbert was initially printed by United Media in 1989. People adored his work, and Dilbert gained popularity over time.

400 newspapers published Dilbert in 1994. Following the success of Dilbert, Scott started working as a cartoonist full-time. In 1996, Scott published “The Dilbert Principle,” his debut business book.

Is Scott Adams married? Not anymore, Scott Adams was married to Shelly Miles from 2006 until 2014. They had met at a gym in Pleasanton California. Miles was an employee at that time while Adams was a customer.

Adams later announced his engagement to Kristina Basham in 2019. They married on July 11, 2020. Basham is a model, baker and vice president at WhenHub. Their marriage didn’t hold as Adams revealed that they were getting a divorce on March 10, 2022.
