Meet Casey and Travis Bagent

Travis Bagent is the father of Tyson Bagent. He is recognized as an arm-wrestling world champion. While playing baseball at Shepherd, he began competing in arm wrestling. In his final year at Shepherd as a starting pitcher in 1999, he went 7-0 with a 3.41 ERA.

In his professional career, he has won over 15 global titles and 25 national championships. He picked up the sport from his champion arm wrestling father, Jerry Boyd.

In Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Boyd ran the Big Arm Bar and Grill, where he hosted competitions with some of the top arm wrestlers in the world. Boyd, who was at the time a bread truck driver, said to the Washington Post in 1977 that “everything I do is related to arm wrestling.”
